Which of the training videos have you watched?
(check all that apply)
Video 1 - Preparing and Positioning in the Embrace MRI Scanner
Video 2 - Prepping a Well-Baby for a Scan
Video 3 - Prepping an Intubated Baby for a Scan
The average noise level experienced by the patient during scanning is on average <= 85 dBA, and never exceeds 87 dBA. Aspect Imaging recommends the use of hearing protection to further reduce the baby's exposure to acoustic noise.
Swaddling secures the patient’s extremities so they are compact and fit completely within the confines of the Neonatal Compartment. This also aids in reducing movement during the scan which can improve image quality.
When placing the patient into the patient bed the Head coil should be rotated down to aid in proper positioning.
Prior to swaddling/immobilizing the infant: (check the two correct answers)
Remove the infant’s diaper
Place hearing protection over the infant’s ears
Shave the infant’s head
Change the EKG and Pulse Oximeter to MR-Compatible monitors.
While preparing an infant for an MRI scan, ensure that:
The infant has been weaned to an open crib for 1 hour prior to the scan
All electrodes and tubing are secured with an additional layer of tape
All monitoring electrodes are removed and replaced with MR-safe monitoring electrodes
None of the above
